So I see everyone is pushing the next shiny object in our space.
Apparently Walmart is now better than Amazon because they changed their commissions from 4% to 10%
Now all the Goo-roos are pushing this new Walmart affiliate site builder tool or whatever it is and claims that Walmart affiliates is supposedly going to kill Amazon affiliates this year... yada yada.
Here's the thing.
- Do you know anyone personally that purchases from Walmart.com?
- Do you know anyone personally that purchases from Amazon.com?
The conversion rate is what matters.
Over the holidays my conversion was at 14%.
Walmart can't touch that IMO.
Amazon kicks the living shit out of Walmart when it comes to conversion.
Sure, the 10% commission is nice from Walmart and it is a good start for them to maybe try and compete with Amazon but the reality is that Amazon.com is so well known, loved and established that I just don't see Walmart competing with them in the online space.
You can always test Walmart out by adding some links to your sites for them and see how it converts but I am willing to bet that you would make at least triple the amount on Amazon from the same amount of traffic.
That's my two cents anyway.

Ps. Happy New Year!
