So recently I noticed a new trend among marketers (goo-roos) saying that the 4 hour work week is nothing but a pipe dream.
Instead, they say people have to hustle, hustle and more hustle 24 hours a day.
What a bunch of BS!
Firstly, reading the 4 hour work week changed my life. I had one goal and that was to build myself a business that could sustain me and family without having to work more than 4 hours per week.
If you haven't read that book yet, go to your favorite book store or Amazon and order it. Well worth the read.
I achieved that goal almost 6 years ago and it is still working well for me.
It all comes down to choosing the right business model.
If you do what most Goo-roos do, then no, you won't be able to live the 4 hour work week lifestyle.
Having to create a new crappy product to launch every month and hustling for affiliates is a sure fire way to burn out.
Imagine this for a second.
You create a blog in a niche that you are interested in, the niche has lots of buyers of both Physical and Information products.
Take the baby niche for example.
New parents spend all kinds of money on things such as strollers, car seats, high chairs, cribs etc.
Trust me I know, we have a 2 year old and a 4 year old and the spending on the kids have only just begun.
Parents also spend a ton of money on information products.
One of the best selling products on Clickbank is a guide to Potty Train toddlers in just 3 days.
There are lots of other topics that sells well too.
Ok you with me so far?
Now, you go ahead and create or outsource some really good content in the niche to put on your blog. You also create review pages for all of these hot selling Physical products with your Amazon affiliate links attached.
Next, you create a simple popup where you give away something valuable for free. It could be a free report, audio interview with an expert or whatever.
When people enter their name and email to get the freebie, they go on your email subscriber list.
Create a follow up email sequence that goes out automatically to all new subscribers. In the emails you provide more good information and link back to your website content.
You also promote either your own or a Clickbank offer in some of the emails.
Also make sure to add some Google Ads to your site.
Now you have a website that is geared to earn you money on auto pilot.
All you need is traffic.
Next you start creating a following on social media. Pinterest and Facebook.
You start building back links to your site to get these review pages ranking well on Google.
Maybe you also start some PPC campaigns if you have the budget.
Soon enough your site starts ranking on Google, Bing and Yahoo.
People start buying cribs and stuff from your website on Amazon, they click on your Google ads and they start joining your newsletter list.
Now you keep adding more good content to your site and keep building good back links to your site to get better rankings and more traffic.
Before you know it, your site is ranking well, you have a few profitable PPC campaigns that run on Auto Pilot and you get a steady stream of traffic from Social media.
At this point you have achieved the 4 Hour Work Week.
This is exactly how I have done it.
I spend maybe an hour a week monitoring my PPC campaigns, another 3 hours or so coming up with new content ideas and building a few good quality back links to maintain and increase my rankings. Maybe 30 minutes to post my new content on my social media accounts.
Actually, this can also all be outsourced as well. I have a very good employee in the Phillipines who does this for me so I don't even have to work 4 hours a week if I do not want too.
This is what I call passive income and it can be very lucrative if you do it the right way.
Also, it takes real work to get to this point. Anything worth while takes hard work and commitment but I am here to tell you that the 4 Hour Work Week is very real.
